![]() With the current system you are kind of assuming I'm going to steal from you, that if I can export high res textures and use as many layers as I want, why would I ever buy your full licence? I will buy it because the application has helped me, because it gave me the ability to learn sculpting, texture painting, and make it a part of my workflow, because I am honest and I love your product. ![]() You should WANT people to have a incredible portfolio, with as much detail as they can smash in, and you WANT that portfolio to have 'Made with 3DCoat' at the bottom. If you want the application to be picked up, you WANT people learning on it, and you shouldnt want to hinder that learning in any way. Why do this? Especially for educational licences? I have literally had discussions with people with the power to pick up dozens of licences at a time, and as soon as they hear the educational licence has such strange restrictions on it, bork. All it does is limit the ability of the artist, all it does is frustrate them (spesh those layers I mean yeesh). If and when I could, the very SECOND I could afford it, I would purchase a full licence.īeing hindered, ESPECIALLY by the lock on layers, in no way pushes me to purchase. Whenever I talk about it though, and try and sell people on it because, frankly its terrific it comes with the caveat: You are however restricted to 2k textures, and 7 layers in the personal/educational licence. ![]() I know for certain that I havent only generated some sales, I've gotten people that deal with hundreds of students to include it in presentations and reccomendations to people wanting to get involved with sculpting. I have used it throughout my academic career, and dropped its name numerous times, to students and faculty alike. I am a massive fan of this software, I think its very well put together and really gives people a fairly priced alternative to something like ZBrush.
